The journey began in 2021 when he created a record by collecting the maximum number of photographs of Naveen Patnaik from various newspapers. This outstanding accomplishment earned him a place in the India World Records, marking the beginning of his inspiring path. In 2022, he expanded his collection to the national level by achieving another milestone—amassing the highest number of photographs of Narendra Modi. This feat was recognized by the Bravo International Book of World Records.
His passion did not stop there. Dillip extended his collection to international cricket players, earning recognition from the Worldwide Book of Records. These achievements highlight his versatility and deep interest in preserving significant personalities and moments through visual documentation.
Alongside his achievements as a collector, Dillip Kumar Sahu has excelled in the field of visual arts. In 2023, he received the prestigious Kala Bhushan Award for his masterpiece painting Three Elephants from the Ajanta Alora International Art Gallery. He is also a trained traditional stone carving artist, having completed a diploma from a State Institution of Handicrafts Training, which adds depth and authenticity to his artistic skills.
Over the years, he has been honored with numerous awards, including the Global Icon Award, India Star Independence Award 2021, India Success Leaders Award 2023, Visionary Future Leader Award 2023, Inspiring Indian Award 2023, and the 15 Game Changing Personalities Award 2024. In 2024, he was awarded the India Star Republic Award for his remarkable collection of photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The most recent milestone in his journey came in 2026, when he received the prestigious International Dhauli Art Festival Award for his painting of Lord Buddha. As part of the Progressive Artist Group, ten artists, including Dillip Kumar Sahu, were honored for their outstanding performance in art. His award-winning pencil sketch of Lord Buddha further demonstrates his artistic excellence and dedication.
