Actress Nilani Contributes ₹50,000 Towards Welfare Activities
Coimbatore: With the objective of promoting sports, encouraging healthy lifestyles and creating awareness among youngsters against drug addiction, Coimbatore JCI Zenith Zone 17 is organising ZPL 2.0 – 2026, a cricket tournament with the theme “Bat for Zero Hunger – No Addiction to Drugs, Addiction to Sports.”
The initiative aims to use cricket as a platform to deliver a strong social message, particularly among the younger generation. The organisers seek to encourage youngsters to stay away from drugs and harmful addictions and instead develop a positive interest in sports, fitness and other constructive activities.
A total of 24 teams have registered for the tournament, with participation from Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Ooty, Salem and Trichy. The event brings together cricket enthusiasts from different parts of Tamil Nadu while creating awareness about the importance of sports and social responsibility.
Actress Nilani Supports the Welfare Initiative
A key highlight of the programme is the support extended by popular actress Nilani, who has contributed ₹50,000 towards the welfare activities associated with the initiative.

Prizes and Player Recognition

The first-place team will receive ₹15,000 along with a trophy and medals, while the second-place team will receive ₹10,000 with a trophy and medals. The third-place team will receive ₹5,000 along with a trophy and medals.
Individual players will also be recognised through special awards including Man of the Series, Best Bowler and Man of the Match.
